Description

Temperature sensors are typically not directly inserted into industrial processes. Instead, they are placed within thermowells to protect them from potential harm caused by factors such as flow-induced stresses, high pressure, and corrosive chemicals. Thermowells, which are sealed metal tubes or bar stock, are incorporated into the process vessel or piping, forming an essential pressure-tight component. This design allows for the convenient removal of sensors for calibration or replacement without process shutdown and the potential drainage of the pipe or vessel.
